So MuCh To Do!

Hey all! Like the title says I have SO MUCH TO DO! And I feel like not enough hours in the day! I am trying to reset my internal clock a bit... I use to stay up all hours of the night creating, maybe head to bed around 3am or so. But now my children keep getting up earlier and morning zombie mom is not so fun :/.... So this week of adjusting to getting up early *mind you 7-8am is early to me* is really killing my creative juices! I normally pump out at least 3 new items a week, but nothing yet :( Well I shouldn't say nothing, I have been working on my business cards and plush tags etc... I guess you would call it graphic design. I am not that fancy but I do love doing it!
The top is my new business card. AND I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THEY GET HEREEEEEE! And the bottom are some samples of my new plush tags! They will be tied or inserted with a tagging gun *not sure yet* on my plush toys. So excited! They are called "mini's", You can check the site out here And if you are an etsy seller you can get 100 of them for only $5.00! Steal!!! You don't have to use them as "plush cards" they could also be thank you cards, or even a way to send out your coupon codes with orders *squee* so many ideas! Well I hope to get this routine straightened out soon! Any advice moms or fellow workers out there? Because there are monsters that need to be born! Oh and this little guy got adopted today!

LGG Animal Line

Hey! So a bit ago I did a Little Green Guy dog! He turned out adorable, and went over very well,
The first two were adopted right away :) This little guy is still looking for a good home and available in my shop
So I decided to expand the line *squeee* (yes that was my eXcItEd noise, you know you want to say it, it's fun) Because one eye or two, everybody needs a pet, even a monster! Here is a preview of what I am thinking:
So I will be working on the bunny and cat very soon :). I actually liked this little doodle so much I think I will be making tags for the plush that use that sketch. I have already picked up these for the cat,
But am not sure if I will go with those or big black eyes like the dog, maybe some of both. After I get a few basic colored animals in, I would love to play with new fur colors and textures and create some funky little gUyS! I'll keep you posted on their progress! *EDIT* Here is a preview of the new tags!

ExCiTeD

Wellll,
No creating going on here tonight, just wanted to take a minute to jump up and down... Oh wait you can't see that can you?
Why the dorky excitement you ask? Well, my book, thanks to etsy, has been shipped all over the U.S. and in one instance outside of the US!

For those of you just following, I self published my first book Little Green Guy finds a friend (available here) and have had a bit of success with it on and off etsy.

My book is being read in Oregon, Florida, Arizona, California, of course Michigan, and Germany. How cool is that?

A small accomplishment to some, but I am amazed, with the power of selling over the internet my book is now all over the U.S. :)

For those of you wondering I have done my research on becoming published, I have submitted to several publishers already, and if you have done your homework, so to speak, you know how competitive children's book publishing is. So I joke by saying I am waiting on my first rejection letter ;). But that is not stopping me. The first batch of books I self published is very close to sold out, after that the book will be re-formatted a bit to be sold on amazon as well (hey if you have one of the original copies it could be worth hanging on to ;).

But just had to share my excitement before crawling into bed with my little green guy... Oh come on, you sleep with a plush too, you don't? Well never mind then!

Night!

School Visit

I had the pleasure of reading to a few classes this month! I never imagined what a blast it would be! The children were so receptive and got so involved! I loved the Q&A after, their questions and creativity amazed me.
Here the Little Green Guy had just blown a leaf into the audience. Each child got a leaf to take home with them to help remember why it is important to be kind to others :) (there is a leaf/tree throughout Little Green Guy finds a friend)

It is so cool to see the puppet from this angle. I was worried how the children would receieve him, especially since he doesn't "talk", just over exaggerated movements, but he looks good from here! They loved passing him around after and being the puppetiers

Again, an overall amazing experience, and I can't wait to do it again next year! I am hoping to be able to tour to a wider array of schools in the coming school year!
